Tucked away in Newport, Butterfly Kisses Pavilion is one of those hidden gems that feels like it was made for intimate celebrations. With its charming barn, open fields, and cozy indoor spaces, it’s the kind of place that makes every moment feel just a little more special.
For Makenzi and Zac, their wedding day was filled with quiet, meaningful moments and just the right touch of spontaneity.
The morning unfolded gently, full of sweet anticipation. Both Makenzi and Zac spent time with their closest people no rush, just meaningful moments. We took time to capture the little details: the dress, the shoes, the florals… the in-between moments that always end up being some of the most memorable.
Their first look took place in the open field next to the venue. It was intimate, emotional, and absolutely perfect. We stayed out there for portraits, capturing their just seen each other smiles… until the rain showed up. North Carolina weather keeps us on our toes! We made a quick change of plans and started bridal party photos in a more covered spot and honestly, everyone rolled with it like champs.
With the weather calling the shots, the original outdoor ceremony was moved indoors and it was stunning. The team at Butterfly Kisses seamlessly flipped the space, and soon guests were settled in for a heartfelt ceremony full of love, laughter, and a few happy tears.
After the ceremony, the room was transformed again ready for dinner, heartfelt toasts, dancing, and celebration. One of the most unique moments of the evening was how Makenzi and Zac opened the dance floor. They played the first dance songs of their family and friends, and invited each couple out as their song played. It was personal, beautiful, an amazing way to get everyone involved.
The night ended with a bubble exit, the kind where everyone is smiling ear to ear and you just know the photos are going to be gold.
This day was full of unexpected moments, but also so much beauty, joy, and heart. Makenzi and Zac thank you for trusting me to capture it all. Rain or shine, your love was the star of the show!
